R#29 with Oliver Arnold, Zündstoff Booking & Radio Havana

Oliver Arnold

He held his first concert at the age of 13 and has been active in the music and events industry ever since.

Oliver Arnold plays guitar for the German-speaking punk band Radio Havanna, which released its seventh album on its own label at the beginning of 2020. In addition to being a musician, the Thuringian native was also always an organizer for his band and creators in the alternative music scene, knitting his network, booking tours, organizing concerts and festivals.

When his band left the Thuringian province and moved to Berlin, Arnold signed up with F-Cat. There he immersed himself in the professional music industry at the established agency for world music, jazz, reggea and rock and discovered new styles of music for himself - but at the same time always remained connected to punk rock and the DIY spirit that went with it.

When he switched to Sparta Booking after a few years (founder Florian Brauch was a guest on Redfield Podcast #1), he looked after the Berlin office of the Münster agency and, after the company was dissolved, founded Zündstoff Booking with his Sparta colleague Niclas Almér Henßen in autumn 2019. Both brought artists like Adam Angst, Montreal, Itchy and Billions with them, signed new bands and threw themselves into work with motivation.

A little later, the Corona crisis catapulted the young company straight into a phase without any income, which Oliver Arnold speaks openly about in an interview with Alexander Schröder. He looks at the effects and classifies future opportunities and directions within the booking industry.

In addition, both examine Arnold's professional career, his stations along the way and talk about the reasons and timing that led to a significant career leap at Radio Havana.
