R#96 with Mirca Lotz, activist, curator, speaker

Mirca Lotz

Equality in the music industry is a central issue for Mirca Lotz, for which she is strongly committed and constantly builds networks. She describes herself as a curator, speaker and activist.

In the Redfield Podcast, Mirca Lotz reports how she found her way into the music business in Munich by booking and organizing extraordinary concerts with the non-profit association Innen.aussen.raum.

Whether unamplified concerts in front of hundreds of spectators at a tree or an event in the international sleeping car factory, the challenges of the implementation were and are always diverse, Lotz looks back.

Over the last few years she has become more and more aware that she wants and needs to work for equal rights. She organized the Showcase Festival & Conference We Make Waves in 2017. The program was aimed at women as well as trans and non-binary people.

She is also involved in a variety of ways, including in the Keychange Initiative, musicBYwomen and launched Safe The Dance and the decentralized network meeting Network The Networks a few months ago.

In an interview with Alexander Schröder, Mirca Lotz talks about what constantly drives her, how difficult it was for her to implement these topics, what needs to change and what her view of quota requirements is now.
