Imke Machura Rocketry

She is a mentor to what is probably the largest community of female musicians in German-speaking countries. Imke Machura started her rocketry podcast in 2017. Since then, she has been portraying and interviewing women who are actively shaping the music scene, making them visible and thereby giving inspiration and courage to female musicians.

Previously, she had been an active part of the music industry for many years, working as a booker and product and label manager for indie labels. Due to the positive feedback on her podcast and numerous inquiries, she finally started the rechner community, which now includes over 1,000 musicians. With her concept she won the MusicWorx Audience Award of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg at the launch and took off to a flying start.

Since then, she has been supporting musicians in building a profitable musical career, fine-tuning their external image, their individual work and self-marketing structure, and advising on building reach and growth. Her goal is to equip the musicians with an entrepreneurial mindset so that they can position themselves successfully and independently in the music industry.

In an interview with Alexander Schröder, Imke Machura talks about her personal background, talks about the beginnings of rocketry and the steps in which she built it up. She makes it clear what service she can offer and why she offers a “robber ladder for female musicians into the music industry”.
Both talk about the situation in the current Corona crisis and how, together with their community, they put together a successful online festival in just a few days.
