VON WEIDEN bring images of a provincial scene to life, but only superficially provide the soundtrack of country life. Bursting with playfulness, down-to-earth and cosmopolitan, they play with rural clichés, but never let their slogans degenerate into nostalgic platitudes. What happens on stage is highly contagious and danceable. The lady and her gentlemen from the border area between North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony want to indulge, dance, drink, sing and go crazy with their audience. Sometimes it sounds fresh, like barefoot across the meadow, sometimes harsh, like rancid boots on gravel. From polka to rock'n'roll, from gutter blues to songs. The string, string, tapping, pressure and blowing tools are tried out and combined so that it is a real joy! There are also texts that talk about going and staying, the best buddy, the beloved moped or the last march. Shirt-sleeves and smugness are omnipresent at VON WEIDEN, without ever being silly.
